Lennard Esveld

Lennard Esveld specialises in liability and insurance law. He advises and represents clients in a broad range of matters, including professional liability, product liability, and cases involving technical damage. His practice encompasses the defence of claims and the recovery of damages, such as subrogated actions by insurers, including fire recourse claims. He also acts in policy coverage disputes on behalf of insurers and insured parties, involving liability insurance (including PI), property damage/business interruption (PDBI), construction all risks (CAR), and machinery breakdown policies.

In addition, Lennard drafts and reviews policy conditions and contractual agreements, with a particular focus on liability- and insurance-related provisions. He also advises on and litigates commercial disputes, including contractual claims and issues arising from broken-off negotiations.

Beyond his legal practice, he delivers lectures on liability and insurance law to industry professionals. He also serves as treasurer of Cobra 1998 and is a member of various professional associations, including the Association for Liability and Compensation Law, the Construction Law Association, and the Association for Insurance Science.

Since 2019, Lennard has been practising as an attorney at VanNiekerkCieremans. He holds a Master’s degree in Private Law and a specialised Master’s in Liability and Insurance from Erasmus University Rotterdam. During his studies, he gained experience at an international insurance company and at the Supreme Court of the Netherlands.
